frowned-upon-in-most-cultures:
Hey so this is something really horrifying
This is a sign on the way into New York claiming urging people to deny the Armenian Genocide, in response to the pope’s recent public recognition of it.
There are several Turkey-based organizations that pay academics in other countries to counter the historical consensus that the Armenian Genocide was definitely real and was definitely a genocide.
Turkey has laws against publicly acknowledging the Armenian Genocide,(you can get up to 10 years in prison) and has a policy where it cuts off all ties with any country who publicly recognizes it (they also have laws against criticizing certain historical leaders.)
Obama acknowledged it in speeches while he was still in congress, but has had to stay silent on it ever since he became president. Several U.S. state legislatures have acknowledged it, but Turkey would cut off all relations if Congress acknowledged it.

cks
When I buy fruit and veggies, I always soak them in a 1:4 ratio of vinegar and water to help remove toxins and pesticides. I leave them soaking for up to an hour, longer with nonorganic apples. At the end of the bath, sometimes you can even see cloudy like stuff in the water from the skins and waxes, and dirt on the bottom.
good idea ^
THANK YOU FOR SHARING THIS MAGICAL IDEA WITH THE WORLD
Also works for fruit fly eggs apparently.
